You don't need to become more creative. 

You need to make more room for the creativity you already have. 

To facilitate this, you might want to consider joining the workshop group meeting every Tuesday From September 22 at A Fábrica in Olhão.

These workshops will help you drill down into each of the themes for the week as set out in The Artist's Way.  Broadly speaking, we will focus on:

  • Reconnecting with creativity — rediscover interests, ideas, and forms of expression you may have abandoned.

  • Moving beyond the fear of not being good enough — learn to recognise perfectionism, self-criticism and comparison without allowing them to determine where your creativity takes you.

  • Making time for yourself —  give creativity a place in your everyday life, rather than waiting for the "right" time.

  • Discovering what you actually want — separate your creative desires from the expectations of work, culture and other people.

  • Experimenting without pressure — write, make, imagine and explore without the requirement to produce something polished or commercially useful.

  • Developing creative confidence — not confidence that everything you make will be good, but confidence that you can begin, experiment, fail, change direction, and begin again.

  • Creating alongside other people in a non-competitive environment — experience a supportive group in which there is no requirement to perform, or prove ability.

  • Developing a sustainable creative practice — leave with practical routines and boundaries that can continue after the course ends.

  • Giving yourself permission to play — something many adults gradually lose through responsibility, productivity and the pressure to be useful. The other thing I love about play is that you can never fail at play. 

  • Rediscovering curiosity — pay attention to what interests, excites, and moves you.

  • Finishing the course with a plan — rather than feeling inspired for a few weeks before returning to your old routines.
