About Me

Hi! I'm Hazel Katherine Larkin, and I am a survivor of child sexual abuse; incest; trafficking for the purposes of sexual exploitation; domestic violence; rape, and marital rape. In 2023, I was diagnosed with extreme ADHD.
I grew up in a family that the local health authority described as "dangerously dysfunctional". My mother displays all the traits of a narcissist, while my father displays all of the traits of ASPD (what we might colloquially refer to as psychopathy). I frequently describe them as two cheeks of the same arse.
Academically, I hold a BA (Hons) in Psychology & Sociology; an MA in Sexuality Studies; an LLM in International Human Rights Law from QUB. My PhD thesis "It's Very Complicated: An Autoethnographic Study of the Relationships Between Daughters and Mothers - in Ireland - Where Both Have Histories of Child Sexual Abuse", will be published this year by Routledge (with a much shorter title!).
My other books "Gullible Travels" and "Body of Evidence" are memoirs. The former is ostensibly about the first ten years I spent in Asia, but also detail the effects that child sexual abuse had on my adult self. The latter - which was published last year - is a series of essays from a crime scene. That crime scene is, of course, my body.
